Backup Care
Children get sick. When they get sick, daycare centers don't really want them to come in, because there's a very real risk that other kids (and adults) will get sick as well. I can share horrific, first hand experiences of toddlers and preschoolers vomiting copiously all over toys and meals, and other children not fully comprehending that it isn't something they need to investigate, and that while you appreciate the offers of help to clean up the huge mess, you don't actually want anyone else near it!
On the less prolific side of the spectrum, there are also colds, sniffles, and ear infections. As my schedule permits, I try to be available on Friday and Monday mornings and afternoons to provide emergency care. Please understand that these are not times I "guarantee" that I am available, only that I may be able to step in for childcare coverage so that you can go to work and do your best to keep other families and kids healthy by keeping your little ones at home!
